LONTAR

I established LONTAR: The Journal of Southeast Asian Speculative Fiction in 2012 as a biannual venue devoted to spreading awareness of and celebrating non-realist writing from and about Southeast Asia; the tenth and final issue was published in May 2018. I was aided in my efforts by poetry editor Kristine Ong Muslim and comics editor Adan Jimenez.

Our contributors have won major literary awards in Singapore, the USA, UK, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines, and include Dean Francis Alfar, Paolo Bacigalupi, John Burdett, Zen Cho, Aliette de Bodard, Sabrina Huang, Eka Kurniawan, Amanda Lee Koe, Ken Liu, E.C. Myers, Ng Yi-Sheng, Victor Fernando R. Ocampo, Geoff Ryman, Christina Sng, Cyril Wong, and Bryan Thao Worra.
